There are several situations and methods to adjust the brake system, including the following
For ordinary brake systems
1. Loosen the adjusting screw and the locking nut on the pull rod, tighten the adjusting screw and the ball nut on the pull rod to allow the brake pads to make contact with the brake disc.
2. Disengage the parking brake transmission rod, which means separating the transmission rod from the pull arm.
3. Loosen the ball nut to separate the shoe from the brake disc, then adjust the adjusting screw to maintain a uniform minimum gap between the shoe and the brake disc, and tighten the locking nut while maintaining this gap.
4. Loosen the parking brake lever to the front limit position and adjust the length of the transmission rod. Connect the transmission rod to the shoe operated pull arm and tighten the locking nut while maintaining the above clearance.
5. Carefully check whether the installation of the split pin and nut is normal.
6. When the pawl on the control lever moves 3 to 5 teeth on the mountain shaped toothed plate, it should be able to fully brake.

For variable speed bicycle brakes
If the wheels are turned and obstructed and stop quickly, it indicates that there is a fault in the position of the brake. Check the gap between the brake pad and the wheel rim for the ring brake, and check if there is any gap between the brake pad and the disc in the brake caliper. After identifying the problem, follow the following methods to handle it.
The ring brake has a twist that can change the gap between the brake pad and the wheel rim. When disassembling the wheel set, loosen it to make it easier to remove. After installing the wheel set, tighten it.
Loosen the two fixing screws when the disc brake rubs against the disc, observe the gap between the discs in the clamp, shake the clamp position to center the discs, and then tighten the fixing screws. Alternatively, loosen the fixing screw and rotate the wheel, then hold the brake on the handle firmly before tightening the fixing screw.
For pneumatic brakes
1. Find the rear wheel small fly adjustment nut. If the nut has a locking ring, use a 17 to 19 plum blossom pad on it and tap it on with a small hammer.
2. After adjustment, the nut will automatically return to its original position and turn right. It should be tightened until it cannot be turned. Running downhill often results in one deduction, while walking flat often results in two deductions.
3. Loosen the brake cylinder to the left and tighten it to the right. When the vehicle is empty, use a jack to lift the axle and manually pull up the wheels before tightening them.
In short, the adjustment of the brake requires patience and attention to ensure that it is adjusted properly to ensure driving safety.
